Body Scrubs DIY

body scrubBody scrubs are a wonderful and easy way to exfoliate your skin and leave it feeling softer and looking healthier. As we age, our skin does not naturally turn over as fast. The skin builds up over time and can look dull and rough. This is why we need to use body scrubs to help physically scrape off all the old, dead skin.

They can be used in the shower or applied by a therapist. You can buy them at the store or make them yourself. I recommend making them yourself because you can then specialize the ingredients to your liking and save quite a bit of money.

Easy-to-make DIY body scrub:

Himalayan sea salt

Small amount of vitamin E oil

Small amount of jojoba oil

Organic extra virgin coconut oil

3 drops of favorite essential oil

This is not a strict recipe, as you can choose whatever oils and aromas you like. Some other recommendations include:

Body scrubs are recommended at least once a month, but can be done up to a few times a week. You want to make sure you don’t overexfoliate your skin; that can dry it out and aggravate it. A body scrub should never hurt. If it does, you are either pressing too hard or the scrub itself is too abrasive.

Body scrubs should not be done on sunburns, lesions or bad acne. The skin needs to be healthy in order to receive this treatment.
