Get Healthy NOW! With the Power of Oregano Oil

Many healthy food choices are available, but few are healthier than the spice of oregano. Fresh or dried oregano contains many immune boosting qualities, but oregano essential oil is far more concentrated. I have often used oregano essential oil to ward off illness. It’s strong, and sure does work. I have many happy clients who purchased oregano and have never once given a poor review. Even my uncle who is a skeptic of this kind of “snake medicine” loves oregano. Once you try it, you will be convinced of its abilities.

Oregano Can Kill Infections

Oregano is one of the most powerful antimicrobial essential oils. Laboratory research done in 2001 at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, showed oregano to have a 99 percent kill rate against streptococcus pneumoniae in vitro colonies, a microorganism responsible for many kinds of lung and throat infections. Oregano is also very high in carvacrol, a potent anti-inflammatory. High in DNA repair activity, oregano provides antioxidant protection as it cleans the body of pathogens.

I mainly use oregano when I am feeling run down and on the verge of getting sick. Also, if others around me are sick, I will often go home and take a capsule with a couple drops of oregano just to be safe. Oregano also works well when applied to inflamed or possibly infected areas. I have used it on swollen tonsils and glands to help heal the infection.

I have a very close friend who used a combination of oregano and thyme to get rid of a mole she had bothering her on her back. She used oregano consistently every day to shrink the mole and help repair her skin.

Cooking With Essential Oils

Spice oils typically have a much stronger flavor that citrus oils. For strong oils such as oregano, nutmeg, cinnamon, thyme or basil, dip a toothpick into the oil and stir into food once cooked. This can better help control the amount of essential oil.

Tip: Oregano, marjoram, thyme, or basil can be put in tomato sauces for spaghetti, pizza, ravioli, and lasagna recipes.

 Oregano Dilution

Potent oils such as cinnamon, oregano, lemongrass, and thyme will require far more dilution that relatively mild oils. Phenols found in oregano and thyme oil are highly antimicrobial but may irritate the sinuses if inhaled directly or applied neat.

20-80 rule

Always dilute in a 20-80 rule, using 1 part essential oil to 4 parts vegetable or massage oil before applying to the skin or taking internally.

When feeling sick, I recommend taking an empty vegetable capsule with 2 drops of oregano oil and 8 drops of a carrier oil (coconut, vegetable, almond). My recommendation is to take a capsule in the morning, noon and night until better.

Some people put a few drops in a shot of water. This way is perfectly fine as long as you avoid getting the oil on your lips and skin. Essential oils mix better with a liquid that contains some sort of fatty molecule such as regular, almond, or coconut milk.

It’s very important to keep your oregano oil and any other essential oils in a safe place away from children. Essential oils are concentrated and very strong and should be used wisely.

It’s always important to remember: more is not always better with essential oils.
