Home Remedies To Moisturize Your Dry Skin Naturally

Proper hydration begins with balancing the water and oil within your skin. When treating dehydrated skin, start with upping your water intake. Just getting enough water daily can reduce dark circles, soften the skin texture, help reduce acne, and so much more. Here are some of the home tips on how to get some moisture back into your skin.

3 Home Remedies To Moisturize Your Skin

1. Facial Oil

Sometimes water alone isn’t enough to hydrate those with really dry skin. Those suffering from chapped, dry, or lackluster skin try integrating a facial oil into your routine. These products are great because they are naturally antibacterial and they don’t need preservatives. They contain omegas and fatty acids all great for bringing life back to the skin. Facial oils are the trend right now and can be found in any health and beauty aisle. My personal favorites would be:

One thing to watch for when choosing a facial oil is not to choose something so heavy, it’s going to clog your pores. Oils like coconut butter are great for massaging into dry body parts but will be too heavy for most people’s facial pores to handle. If you apply a facial oil and it doesn’t soak in within about 30 minutes it may be too heavy for your skin, or you may need less product.

2. Honey

Honey has to be one of my favorite products found in the kitchen. It is a humectant and helps to retain and preserve moisture. I suggest getting a good quality real unfiltered honey. Buy local and support your immune system and your community. Mix a small amount of honey and facial oil into your hands and rub onto the face as a scrub, avoid any inflamed breakouts. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

3. Plain Organic Yogurt

Plain yogurt is great for those with sensitive, very dry, and acne prone skin types. The lactic acid in the yogurt will help the skin produce more moisture. Old yogurt may not smell the best but contains high amounts of lactic acid perfect for gently exfoliating and hydrating skin. Yogurt also contains probiotics good for reducing redness and inflammation in some skin types. Leave the yogurt on the skin as a face mask for 7-10 minutes before washing off.

For best results try the honey scrub and yogurt mask back to back. No doubt your skin will be glowing after getting some much-needed moisture.
